Alden Richards returns to Hong Kong to connect with OFWs, highlights mental health awareness

10/11/2025 12:42:00

Alden Richards is back in Hong Kong, this time as an Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Ambassador!

As seen in Athena Imperial's report in "24 Oras" on Monday, the Asia's Multimedia Star interacted and bonded with the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) in Hong Kong while promoting the importance of mental health.

"Mahirap siya kasi walang ibang kalaban 'yung individuals kundi ang kanilang sarili and based on experience I've been there so I know how it feels," Alden said.

"Mahirap po siya kasi may mga iba pong dumadaan sa dark moments ng buhay nila at hindi nila alam na nakaka-experience na pala sila ng mental health issues," he added.

According to the Kapuso star, it's important to make OFWs feel that they're not alone, even when they're far from their loved ones.

"Mahirap kasi na mag-isa. Mahirap maramdamang mag-isa ka at mahirap na ipinaparamdam sa 'yo ng ibang tao na mag-isa ka lang. So nandito ang OWWA," Alden said.

Alden was in Hong Kong in January 2024 to film the blockbuster movie "Hello, Love, Again," where he starred with Kathryn Bernardo.

"Hello, Love, Again" is the sequel to the 2019 film "Hello, Love, Goodbye," which followed the story of Ethan (Alden) and Joy (Kathryn), two struggling OFWs based in Hong Kong who fell in love at the wrong time.
