The BYD Seal 08 2026 is equipped with megawatt super-fast charging technology, a second-generation Blade battery, rear-wheel steering, and DiSus-A intelligent body control system.
BYD –
the world's largest new energy vehicle manufacturer – officially unveiled its new large sedan, the Seal 08 2026, at the Blade 2.0 battery launch event in its home market of China.
Positioned as BYD's flagship sedan, the Seal 08 incorporates many of the company's latest technologies, such as megawatt supercharger, second-generation Blade battery, rear-wheel steering, and DiSus-A intelligent body control system.
The 2026 BYD Seal 08 electric sedan continues the design language of the Ocean-S concept car with a sleek and dynamic front end. The car features a closed grille, accompanied by slim LED daytime running lights with a wave-like pattern below.
The two air intakes in the front bumper integrate the headlight system with a beautiful starlight effect. Meanwhile, the roof is fitted with LiDAR sensors to support active safety features.
The rear of the BYD Seal 08 features a
sporty fastback design with taillights and flowing lines inspired by the ocean. Additionally, it boasts multi-spoke 19-inch wheels fitted with 245/45 R19 tires.
The BYD Seal 08 has dimensions of 5,150 x 1,999 x 1,505 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. These dimensions promise a spacious interior. Unfortunately, the interior space of the Seal 08 has not yet been revealed.
The Seal 08 is built on a high-voltage 800V platform and equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade battery. This system is expected to deliver an all-electric driving range exceeding 1,000 km. In addition, the Seal 08 supports Flash Charging technology, allowing the vehicle to travel approximately 400 km on a single 5-minute charge.
For the all-wheel drive (AWD) version, the BYD Seal 08 is expected to have a maximum power output exceeding 480 kW (approximately 644 horsepower). This power allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds.
In addition to its performance and long range, the Seal 08 is equipped with chassis technologies such as rear-wheel steering for improved maneuverability and the intelligent DiSus-A body control system. It also features BYD's God's Eye B (DiPilot 300) active safety system.
BYD announced that the new model is expected to go on sale in the Chinese market in the second quarter of this year. Previously, in December 2025, BYD unveiled the “Ocean 8 Series Dual Flagship” line, consisting of two models: the Seal 08 and the Sealion 08. Following the launch of the Seal 08, it is highly likely that the BYD Sealion 08 will also be introduced soon.
