Kazakh rider takes charge at Thai Tour

Kazakhstan's Vadim Pronskiy overtook the yellow jersey after winning the third stage of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup Tour of Thailand 2026 on Thursday.

The Terengganu Cycling Team rider clocked 3:16.13 hours to win the 141.60km third stage between Nong Khai and Nong Saeng in Udon Thani province on Thursday.

He surged to the top of the overall standings with a total time of 8:56.33 hours and was awarded 10 bonus points.

Li-Ning Star cyclist Eduardo Sepulveda from Argentina finished in second place while St George Continental Cycling Team's Daniel Whitehouse of Great Britain came third. Sepulveda got six bonus points while Whitehouse bagged four.

The Best Asean Rider award went to Roojai Insurance Winspace's Thai rider Athit Poulard, who finished ninth in 3:16.46 hours. Poulard also claimed the purple jersey with a total time of 8:57.12 hours.

Sarawut Sirironnachai of the Thailand national team took second place in the Best Asean Rider category after finishing 14th in Thursday's third stage with a time of 3:17.16 hours.

Pierre Barbier, who won the first two stages, finished in 92nd place on Thursday. The French rider took the Best Overall Sprinters award and the green jersey with 32 points.

However, Barbier's Terengganu Cycling Team of Malaysia remain on top in the best team general classification with a total time of 26:50.57 hours after three stages. China's Li Ning-Star are second and China Anta are third.

Philippines' Go For Gold are the top Asean team, followed by the Thailand national team.

Friday's fourth stage will start at Naga Courtyard in front of Wat Lamduan, passing Tha Bo district and finishing at Si Chiang Mai district with a total distance of 154.20km.
