Art lovers are invited to enter an imaginative world and enjoy the unforgettable experience of a Japanese street artist during "Mirror House", which is running at Maison JE Bangkok until Dec 21.
This is the first solo exhibition in Thailand by Aruta Soup, an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist celebrated for his distinctive blend of anime culture and British humour.
He brings paintings that combine free-flowing lines with distinctive colours and energy of fun to reflect the connections between people and everything all around. He believes that events, living beings and objects are all connected in subtle chains that shape the world.
The highlight of the exhibition is his bandaged rabbit character, Zero, which captures fragments of everyday life, expressing this sense of invisible interconnection. Once a shadow that imitated humans, he grows into a symbol of new beginnings, hope and renewal.
A recurring motif in his paintings, Zero symbolises human resilience in the noise-heavy information age of modern society. Though constantly wounded, it is always reborn. The character reflects a duality, struggling with inner conflict while overcoming it with an inexplicable sense of optimism.
With its liberated strokes, vibrant colours and playful graffiti energy, the show aims to explore the connection between the outer world and the unpredictable inner realm, allowing viewers to uncover the hidden meanings and delicate threads woven through every dimension of life.
Maison JE Bangkok is on Surawong Road and opens daily from 11am to 7pm, except Monday.
