Fujifilm BI accelerates AI-driven transformation

28/01/2026 18:01:00

Fujifilm Business Innovation (Thailand) is moving towards becoming a one-stop digital transformation partner to enable organisations to improve productivity.

The company is introducing its own artificial intelligence (AI) agent to empower customers with intelligent workflows amid economic headwinds.

The company expects the nation's digital transformation market to be worth 490 billion baht by 2030.

It also wants to cash in on the local AI industry, projected to be worth 46.6 billion baht by 2030.

"We changed our name to Fujifilm Business Innovation [Fujifilm BI] because we are not just a printer company anymore. We are here to drive innovation for business," said president Masaaki Yanagiya.

Fuji Xerox changed its corporate name to Fujifilm Business Innovation Corp in April 2021.

Amid global economic volatility, geopolitical tensions, and mounting pressure from international trade, the company maintained steady business growth in its fiscal year 2025, which ends in March.

Fujifilm's growth is driven by three business pillars: business solutions (end-to-end document solutions and services); office solutions (office printers and multifunction devices); and graphics communications (digital printing systems and solutions for the commercial printing industry).

"We are not merely a product vendor. We are a catalyst for organisational transformation through digital transformation, leveraging data and digital innovation to enhance efficiency, profitability, and the capabilities of industries and people at every level," Mr Yanagiya said.

Looking ahead to fiscal year 2026 beginning in April, the company aims to underscore its readiness to serve as a trusted business partner, he said.

By integrating hardware, software and intelligent workflows, it seeks to enhance organisational capabilities and unlock new possibilities for its customers.

Hayato Tsuboi, marketing director of the company, said it is embedding proprietary AI across its office and commercial printing solutions, positioning AI as a core driver of digital transformation.

By converting vast amounts of unstructured data, such as documents, images, videos, along with operational know-how, into structured knowledge, he said the company's five core AI agents enhance customer operational efficiency, expert decision-making, creative value creation and equipment optimisation.

For fiscal 2026, Fujifilm IWpro was enhanced, a cloud-based workspace platform powered by generative AI and optical character recognition.

The solution converts unstructured data into accurate digital data that can be seamlessly integrated with business management systems.

The company will be introducing an AI agent designed to help customers automate stock checks and order confirmations, significantly reducing the workload for purchasing tasks, Mr Tsuboi said.

Fujifilm's intelligent data capture feature automatically transforms such data into structured formats without pre-configured templates, reducing manual data entry, improving accuracy and enabling faster integration with accounting or other systems.

The company expects its business solutions to contribute more than 30% of total revenue in fiscal 2025-2026, offsetting the challenges in the tough printing market.

Teraya Sukmark, the company's strategic communications manager, said that this year marks a major milestone in repositioning the corporate brand as a one-stop digital transformation partner.

The company invested 10 million baht on brand communication for this positioning, she said.
