While the humble bao may not be as synonymous with Singapore as kaya or chilli crab, Din Tai Fung’s latest creations, inspired by those very flavours, by most certainly carry a local soul. They’re both comfort foods with a side of sophistication, and together, they serve up a delicious taste of home.

In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday, the restaurant chain is proud to present two special menu items that pay tribute to our nation’s rich culinary heritage, and from 1 July to 31 August 2025, you can enjoy them at all Din Tai Fung Locations islandwide!

Steamed Chilli Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao

A homegrown classic returns to the steamer

The first bao marks the seasonal encore of Din Tai Fung’s much-loved Steamed Chilli Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao at S$11.50 for a basket of four, each meticulously wrapped with the chain’s signature eighteen folds.

Exactly 40% larger than the restaurant’s classic Xiao Long Baos, this counterpart is stuffed with not only morsels of succulent pork, but also pristine crab meat and a fiery chilli crab broth—a real mouthwatering nod to Singapore’s iconic dish.

Steamed Kaya Bun

A fresh take on a local classic

Meanwhile, the Steamed Kaya Bun offers a sweet contrast to the savoury Steamed Chilli Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao, making its debut at S$3 per piece or S$8.50 for a plate of three. The dough is subtly infused with palm sugar, lending it a warm caramel tint and a wholly rich and wholesome flavour.

Each cloud-soft bun is also filled with silky Nyonya kaya and topped with toasted coconut flakes, adding a gentle, aromatic crunch. Finally, here’s the cherry on top—while this delectable treat will only be available for a limited time at all Din Tai Fung outlets islandwide, it’s becoming a permanent menu item at their Resorts World Sentosa branch!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab these locally inspired baos while they’re still hot! Prices may vary across restaurants, and are subject to prevailing GST and service charge, so its recommended that you bring more what it’ll cost. Then, you can even use the change to buy yourself a little extra!
