Ellie Goulding has announced that she has welcomed her second child, a “beautiful healthy baby girl”.

The Burn singer, 39, took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share the happy news with her 13.6 million followers.

Revealing that she gave birth on Friday, Goulding shared a heartfelt tribute to the hospital staff who cared for her.

Over an image that gave a small glimpse of the newborn dressed in a knitted ensemble, she wrote: “On Friday, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl. We are totally obsessed with her.

“It was fitting that I spent International Women’s Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary’s, who provided me and my baby with extraordinary care and kindness.

“I will always be in awe of midwives. This addition to my family fills me with so much joy, especially as Arthur is so happy to become a big brother to this little angel.”

This is Goulding’s first child with boyfriend Beau Minniear. She is already mother to four-year-old son Arthur, whom she shares with her former husband, art dealer Caspar Jopling.

She also shared a photo of a cake decorated with the words “welcome baby sister”.

The London-born star celebrated her pregnancy with a star-studded baby shower in London in January, where friends threw her a 1970s-themed party inspired by Apple TV+ comedy Palm Royale.

Goulding wore a pink Versace mini dress that showed off her baby bump along with a sash reading “Preggs”, in a playful nod to high-street bakery Greggs.

Guests were entertained by boyband Blue – Duncan James, Simon Webbe and Anthony Costa – with Goulding joining them for a rendition of their hit Rise. Partygoers were also treated to a Palm Royale-themed cake and drinks from Goulding’s cocktail brand Served.

Goulding revealed she was expecting her second child when she walked the red carpet heavily pregnant at the Fashion Awards in December.

The baby is her first child with her partner Beau Minniear, whose relationship with the singer became public in September last year. Minniear also appears in Goulding’s recent music video for her single Destiny.

Goulding finalised her divorce from Jopling in January 2025, though the pair remain on good terms while co-parenting their son.

The singer is not expected to step away from work for long. Earlier this week it was announced she will headline BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland on May 23.

Her sixth studio album is also due for release later this year. Speaking recently to Nylon magazine, Goulding said the project had been shaped by the end of her marriage.

“It had always been the goal to start this album,” she said. “I didn’t know it was going to be a divorce album, but that’s the way it started heading.”

“My label, my friends – everyone’s behind it,” she added. “And even my ex-husband loves the songs… well, he hasn’t heard all the songs.”
