Rio and Kate Ferdinand’s son was rushed to hospital following an accident during a family holiday in the Maldives.

The former TOWIE star shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram, showing the three-year-old lying on a stretcher in an ambulance, with her leaning over to kiss him.

Although she didn’t specify exactly how Cree was injured, the 33-year-old wrote: “We ended a fabulous trip with a broken collar bone. My boy just always gets injured!! It’s been sleepless nights, cuddles, tv & chocolate since.”

Kate had earlier shared a series of photos from the holiday, which saw their children enjoy activities like swimming with turtles, dolphin watching, and tropical bike rides.

She was also seen planting coconut trees and joining a football training session for young players.

Kate and Rio, 45, married in 2019 and have two children together: son Cree, born in December 2020, and daughter Shae, who arrived in 2023.

Shae's birth followed a difficult time for the couple, as Kate had previously shared the heartbreak of experiencing a miscarriage, learning the news at their 12-week scan.

Rio also has three older children, Lorenz, Tate, and Tia, from his first marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who passed away in 2015.

This year, the couple celebrated their five-year anniversary. When they first met, Rio admitted he hadn’t been looking for love, but watching Kate connect with his three children "cemented everything" for him.

The former England footballer previously told OK!: “I definitely wasn’t looking for someone at that time.

“I didn’t think it was possible, I wasn’t open to bringing someone in to become a step-mum to the kids. Things don’t always go the way you imagine.

“Meeting Kate changed everything and sometimes it’s just fate. I knew Kate was special from the moment I met her; it was pretty instant, but seeing her with the kids cemented everything; that was a huge part of it for me.”
