Budget carrier Cebu Pacific is looking to sustain growth this year, after flying 26.878 million passengers in 2025 despite fleet reliability issues, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical tensions in the past year.

Data released by the carrier showed that it flew 2.705 million passengers in December, up 5.1% from 2.575 million the same month in 2024, with the seat load factor slightly 1.4 percentage points lower at 83.8%.

Domestic passengers accounted for the bulk, or 1.995 million, bringing the domestic seat load factor to 85.5%, while international passengers stood at 710,000, with the seat load factor at 79.4%.

This brought the total number of passengers for the entire year to 26.878 million, up 9.5% from 24.541 million in 2024. Domestic passengers stood at 18.502 million, and international at 6.039 million.

“Delivering these record numbers despite challenges such as fleet reliability issues, supply chain disruptions, and global geopolitical tensions underscores the strength of our low-cost model and the agility of our operations,” Cebu Pacific chief executive officer Mike Szucs said in a statement.

“We anticipate sustaining similar growth levels in 2026, supported by the delivery of seven new aircraft during the year. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we look forward to another milestone year for the airline,” he added. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
