Cloudy skies, rains over PH due to Habagat

The southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with rains over parts of the country on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

Meanwhile, the state weather bureau continues to monitor the tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The tropical depression is located 1,925 kilometers east northeast of extreme Norther Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 kph, and moving northward at the speed of 20 kph.

Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Palawan, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme Northern Luzon is moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
