Sophia Laforteza is in total shock over Katseye's Grammy nominations.
The Filipina idol shared her reaction to the news through a series of Instagram Stories.
“Oh my goodness,” Sophia wrote.
“I can’t believe this,” she added in another post.
In her third post, she said, “I’m dreaming.”
HYBE's global girl group Katseye is nominated for Best New Artist along with Olivia Dean, The Marias, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young.
Their song “Gabriela” is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Other nominees for the category are “Defying Gravity” by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, “Golden” by HUNTR/X, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, “APT.” by Rose and Bruno Mars, and “30 for 30” by SZA and Kendrick Lamar.
Katseye debuted in 2023 and visited Manila in 2024 for a fan showcase and other appearances and collabs.
In June, the group released the Latin-flavored R&B-pop track “Gabriela” with a telenovela-inspired music video starring Hollywood actress Jessica Alba.
