5 Luzon dams still releasing water amid Uwan

State weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday said five major dams in Luzon continue to release water amid the heavy rains from Tropical Cyclone Uwan.

Based on PAGASA’s update, the following dams have been releasing water: 

Angat Dam - three gates with 3.0-meter opening, releasing 464.00 cubic meters per second

Ipo Dam - three gates with 3.5-meter opening, releasing 417.00 cms

Ambuklao Dam - six gates with 3.0-meter opening, releasing 425.10 cms

Binga Dam - six gates with 3.5-meter opening, releasing 432.85 cms

Magat Dam - five gates with 9.0-meter, releasing 2,144 cms

The water level in Angat Dam increased from 210.37 meters on Monday to 210.90 meters on Tuesday. Its current level is higher than its normal high water level of 210 meters.

In Ipo Dam, the water level decreased from 100.95 m to 100.62 m, lower than its normal high water level of 101.10 m.

Ambuklao Dam’s water level increased from 750.36 m to 751.95 m, which is already close to its normal high water level of 752 m.

The water level in Binga Dam increased from 572.78 m to 572.95 m, still lower than its normal high water level of 575 m.

In Magat Dam, the water level increased from 188.74 m to 190.92 m. This is still lower than its normal high water level of 193. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
