'Elden Ring" live-action film unveils cast, announces 2028 premiere

The cast of the upcoming live-action adaptation of “Elden Ring” has officially been announced!

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the film stars “Heartstopper” actor Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, and "Priscilla" actress Cailee Spaeny. Nick Offerman is also confirmed to join the cast.

The additional cast members unveiled include Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.

Alex Garland will write and direct the film for A24 and video game company Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.

Production will begin in Spring 2026 and is slated for release on March 3, 2028.

"Elden Ring" is an action RPG directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki with worldbuilding by "Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin.

It won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022.

The DLC, "Shadow of the Erdtree," was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024.
