IF their crushing win in their last outing is any indication then Cluster 3’s Black Panthers are heavily favored to rule anew the basketball event of the ongoing Civil Service Anniversary Sportsfest 2024 at the Provincial Capitol ground in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Black Panthers, the annual CSC tourney’s defending champion, listed their recent win at 105-14, thus making them the most feared team in the exciting CSC hoops rivalry.
“Gamay ra ang players sa Cluster 3 pero walay hungaw tanan magamit, unya kasinabot teamwork na sab sila,” said tournament director Zozimo Vicente ‘Inting’ Tan-gan, referring to the battle-scarred Maher Eduave, Jade Abacahin, Ep-ep Tumanda and company.
The revenge-seeking Blue Eagles from Cluster 1 pummeled Cluster 8 by more than 30 points on Thursday, September 5, then won by default yesterday to stay close with their opening-round conqueror Black Panthers at a 3-1 win-loss card.
“Medyo nag-improve na among teamwork unya nihugot na among depensa. Given the chance, pwede pa ‘mi maka-rematch sa Black in the playoff round,” warned former Letran/De La Salle varsity stalwart Jeff Morial in a casual talk with Gold Star Daily.
