Snoop Dogg’s latest endeavor has landed at Costco.
The 54-year-old rapper collaborated with the founder of The Right Thing Snacks and Rap Snacks, James Lindsay, to launch Snoop Box Kettle Chips, perfect for “health-conscious snacking,” according to a recent press release. Aside from being gluten-free, the chips are made with real vegetables and cooked in 100 percent avocado oil. There are no artificial colors, zero trans fat and no added sugars.
Fans of the rapper can now purchase the chips at Costco stores in six states: Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Utah, and Washington.
Sold in a 36-count variety pack, the kettle chips come in multiple flavors, including Sour Cream, Cheddar & Ranch, and Maple BBQ. The brand’s signature “All In” flavor is a layered blend of salt and vinegar, cheddar, BBQ, onion, and garlic.
And, of course, the bag features Snoop Dogg’s face adorned with his signature sunglasses.
“I joined Rap Snacks because it represents culture, ownership, and community,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “With Do The Right Thing, we’re showing the youth that you don’t have to sacrifice flavor or authenticity to make better choices. We’re giving our communities options that still hit on taste, speak to our language, and support a healthier lifestyle. That’s what doing the right thing really means.”
“Snoop has been part of the Rap Snacks family for years, and this felt like the perfect moment to bring him into the Do The Right Thing world,” Lindsay said. “We built this line for people who want to snack smarter without giving up flavor. Costco was the right partner to put it in front of a mainstream audience.”
Many companies are creating healthier options for customers by removing artificial colors in its food and drinks.
Earlier this month, Gatorade launched a new drink, “Gatorade Lower Sugar,” which has no artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors, according to the beverage giant PepsiCo, Inc.
Gatorade drinks have long been known for their rich purple, yellow, blue, red and orange hues, which come from artificial dyes.
“Gatorade Lower Sugar represents the Gatorade Sports Science Institute’s latest innovation in hydration,” Dr. Matt Pahnke, from the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, explained in a statement. “It delivers science-backed hydration aligned with what today’s active consumers are asking for.”
The Gatorade Lower Sugar drinks, made with 75 percent less sugar than Gatorade Thirst Quenchers, are now available across the U.S. They come in four flavors, including Fruit Punch, Lemonade, Glacier Cherry and Rain Berry.
