MANILA, Philippines – Fair weather would likely prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon in the next three to five days, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.

Weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that isolated rain showers and thunderstorms would affect all of Luzon, including Metro Manila, late in the afternoon or at night.

Citing Pagasa, Torres said that another weather system, the easterlies – warm, humid winds passing through the Pacific Ocean – has been affecting Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms.

Pagasa warned that flash floods or landslides could affect these areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the weather agency has not monitored any low-pressure area forming inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days, Torres said.
