MITSUI O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. is set to launch in 2026 the Mitsui Ocean Sakura, the latest in its line of cruise ships.
MOL said in an official statement that its group company, MOL Cruises, Ltd. will launch Mitsui Ocean Sakura on Sept. 19, 2026.
It will have 29 debut cruise itineraries including several short voyages of one to three nights, over a three-month period through December 2026.
The Mitsui Ocean Sakura’s onboard facilities carries forward the traditions and spirit of MOL Cruises’ previous ships, and the company has finalized the service outline.
New additions to the ship currently in operation, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji, include a sushi bar and foot bath.
In the MOL Group’s “Blue Action 2035” management plan, MOL calls for reforms to create a business portfolio that can maintain profitability even during shipping recessions, and the cruise business is positioned as one of the non-shipping, stable-profit businesses that can counter the volatility of the shipping market.
MOL Cruises plans to add new cruise ships in addition to the Mitsui Ocean Fuji to enhance the MOL Group’s corporate value and realize its vision.
