MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tennis sensation Alexandra "Alex" Eala intensified her training for the WTA clay season.
In Instagram stories posted by the Rafa Nadal Academy on Tuesday, Eala was recorded practicing her forehand and backhand swings at the tennis center in Mallorca, Spain.
Eala, who last saw action at the Miami Open where she exited in round of 16, reposted the stories on her Instagram page, too.
The 20-year-old will begin her clay season at the 500-tier Linz Open which will run from April 6 to 12 in Austria.
World No. 45 Eala is seeded seventh in the tournament.
Other notable players competing in Linz are Clara Tauson, Liudmila Samsonova, Jelena Ostapenko, Emma Navarro, Emma Raducanu as well as top seed and defending champ Ekaterina Alexandrova.
After Linz, Eala will compete in another 500-level tourney at the Stuttgart Open in Germany set from April 13 to 19.
With a denser and more loaded field, Eala has to go through the qualifiers instead of gaining direct entry to the main draw.
Seven of the current top 10 players are competing in Stuttgart led by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
The other six players are No. 2 Elena Rybakina, No. 3 Coco Gauff, No. 4 Iga Swiatek, No. 7 Elina Svitolina, No. 8 Jasmine Paolini, and No. 10 Mirra Andreeva.
Eala will then take her act to the Madrid Open in Spain from April 21 to May 3.
With a 96-player draw and Eala ranked no. 45, she gained an automatic main draw entry to the tournament.
Whether she is seeded or not depends if she makes the top 32 in the rankings in the seeding cutoff on April 20.
Eala is also expected to join the 1000 Italian Open from May 6 to 18 and the 125 Parma Ladies Open (alternative) from May 12 to 18.
Eala will then wrap up her main spring clay season at the Roland Garros (French Open) from May 24 to June 7.
