BAGUIO CITYMamala Bay and Luisita Golf and Country Club have emerged as champions in the seniors Am and Fil championship flights in 75th Januarius Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament held at Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club.

Mamala Bay proved unstoppable in the Am championship group, completing a wire-to-wire victory with a 404 total.

Bill Conners, who took the individual seniors highest scorer plum with 113 points, helped powered Mamala Bay with standout rounds that helped anchor the team’s 83–87–116–118 best-four-per-day contributions.

Chris Howard is the team’s top scorer while Vince Sturbaum and Dale Jorgenson  added consistent scoring that kept their opponents at bay.

Green Water Seniors Team settled for second place with a 396 aggregate.

The roster of Douglas  Puckett, Tommy Manotoc, Roland Punzalan, Suny Fontilea, and Jose Quimson made a strong push, highlighted by a 104 day-one performance at BCC and a closing 108 at John Hay.

But Mamala Bay’s steadier output across all rounds proved too much to overcome.

Summit Point Golf rounded out the podium with 386, led by Gerardo de Chavez, Alan Alegre, and Alexander Alejandro.

Their surge in the middle rounds kept them in contention, but they ultimately settled for third. Srixon IMG Team 2 (350) and Team CAGC Seniors (321) completed the top five.

In the senior Fil championship, Luisita Golf and Country Club delivered one of the most commanding wins of the tournament, topping the field with a formidable 454 points after four rounds.

The powerhouse Luisita lineup of Abraham Rosal, Ferdie Barbosa, Benjamin Sumulong, Ronald Littaua, and Gerard Hechanova combined for massive outputs at John Hay, including a tournament-best 132 in the opening round.

Their balanced contributions at BCC sealed a championship run that was never seriously threatened.

Srixon IMG Team 1 finished runner-up with 415, buoyed by strong play from Junjun Plana and Theodore Pascual.

The team’s solid rounds of 107 and 116 kept them within striking distance early, but Luisita’s depth and consistency allowed the leaders to pull away.

Riviera Golf came in third at 411, just four shots behind Srixon. Kyung Young Jung and Chan Yeong Gim led the charge, highlighted by a 121 round at BCC. Valley Golf (377) and Leeward Fil-Am of Hawaii (314) completed the final standings.

The Fil-Am executive committee said the first week of the tournament capped another successful staging of the oldest and largest amateur golf competition in the Asia Pacific region.
