MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boxing great Manny Pacquiao revealed last month that Floyd Mayweather is one of the candidates for his next fight.
A decade has already passed since their first encounter which Mayweather won, Pacquiao said that there's ongoing negotiation for a rematch next year.
At this point, who would win between the two greats?
Is it Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) who just came out of a 4-year retirement and fought WBC welterweight champ Mario Barrios last July to a draw or Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) who retired in 2017 and is only keeping himself busy with exhibition fights?
Timothy Bradley, who fought Pacquiao thrice winning once and losing twice, weighed in on the matter.
"Manny, I think, is a little bit younger than Mayweather. Mayweather's been very active, you know, doing exhibitions. He's constantly training. He's never out of shape. Manny Pacquiao seems to be that type of fighter as well. Special fighters can do special things, you know what I'm saying," Bradley said to FightHype.
"Many people thought that he won the fight against Barrios. Barrios is no easy task, man. You know, he's not. And Manny was able to go in there and do what he did against Barrios. And so, look, I'll tell you this, though. There's levels, man."
Despite the praise he's given Pacquiao for his draw against Barrios, Bradley thinks that the 48-year-old Mayweather will still beat the 46-year-old Filipino legend owing to his fighting style.
"Mayweather's already shown that he can beat Manny Pacquiao. I feel Mayweather still today with his age, even combined with his age, he still will serve and beat Manny Pacquiao," said Bradley.
"The fight, I think that the first fight was a dud. I think Manny coming in, quote unquote, with a shoulder injury, then made it even worse, you know what I mean?
"But I just still think that Mayweather's style and the way he's able to maintain his distance and fight on the outside and keep Manny reaching and countering him on the way in, I don't think that's going to be the same thing, you know? The same thing if they do this second installment."
