DESPITE the occurrence of scattered or isolated rain showers, the country would be free of any possible weather disturbances, at least until the weekend, state-run weather agency Pagasa said on Wednesday.
It said, the southwest monsoon (habagat) is affecting Luzon and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) prevails over southern Mindanao with both weather systems bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms.
In its 4 a.m. weather advisory, Pagasa said that habagat would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, Zambales, Bataan, and Palawan.
Meanwhile, the ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos), BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said that habagat, ITCZ, and localized thunderstorms would prevail over the next 24 hours all over the country.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to habagat could be expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, Estareja said.
The rest of the country would also experience the same weather pattern caused by the localized thunderstorms, he added.
