BULAKAN, Bulacan—Photographs of heroes Marcelo H. del Pilar and Gregorio del Pilar will be on a regular display in the International Houses of Nations in San Diego California, United States of America as one of the major donations and gifts for this year’s celebration of the Filipino-American History month.
Mayor Vergel Meneses send the photographs as gifts to the House of the Philippines (HOP), one of the 38 countries with a mini museum in the International Houses of Nations in Balboa, Park, San Diego.
The donation came two years after Myra Villafana, second vice president of HOP in 2022 sought the help of her former classmate Carmela Reyes-Estrope, correspondent of Philippine Daily Inquirer and owner and editor-in-chief of NEWSCORE to facilitate collection of Philippine history, heritage and cultural matetials for the HOP museum.
Meneses expressed elation that Philippine heroes Marcelo H. del Pilar and Gregorio del Pilar, who are among our national heroes and who are the greatest sons of Bulakan town will be highlighted in an international avenue.
Meneses said amidst the digital age era, the visuals, books, artifacts and other tangible materials presented and preserved in a museum remain one of the most effective efforts in promoting and preserving the rich culture, heritage and history of one nation or locality.
Lemoge and the whole of the HOP officers and members celebrated on Oct. 19 the Filipino-American History Month at the HOP museum where Estrope handed the gifts of the photographs of the heroes.
Estrope and Villafana are both Escolarians who graduated in Centro Escolar Univeristy (CEU) Malolos in 1990.
