In a viral TikTok video, a dog owner revealed the reason why she ended up crying on an eight-hour flight with her pet, and internet users can’t cope with it.
The clip, shared on TikTok on Monday under the username @churroyorkie, shows the poster sat in an aisle seat on a large passenger plane, holding her Yorkshire terrier, Churro, in her arms as he peeks out of his carrier bag.
“Didn’t let anyone sleep on the flights and made my mom cry for eight straight hours but still got pets from lovely strangers who I kept trying to bite and told I was cute,” the poster writes in the caption. “Thank god for the kindest people we got seated around us.”
Churro’s behavior is not totally unexpected. In her profile bio, the poster describes her pup as a 1-year-old part-time land shark, because of his endless shenanigans.
Thankfully for the poster, nobody on the plane complained about the pup, who was actually very popular among seat neighbors, despite his behavior.
Pet-focused travel is rapidly expanding, with over half of owners planning trips with their animals and 53 percent of travelers already holidaying with pets.
Demand for pet‑friendly stays is strong: 52 percent of owners only book such properties, and many want more dog‑friendly hotels, parks, pubs, beaches, and restaurants.
Air travel with animals is also rising, with 2 million pets flying annually and 6 percent of U.S. pets boarding planes each year.
Owners are increasingly prioritizing their pets’ needs, with many planning multiple getaways and some even skipping travel to stay home with their dogs. Overall, pet‑inclusive travel has grown 19 percent in a decade.
The video quickly gathered attention on social media and has so far received over 55,000 views and more than 1,000 likes on the platform.
