Hilarity at Dog's Guilty Reaction After Chewing Shoe—'Arrested Himself'

The internet is obsessed with a dog's guilty reaction after eating his owner's shoe.

TikTok user @damfnereaper is the proud owner of pit bull Quando, who has become an overnight social media sensation thanks to his hilarious response to being presented with evidence of his crime.

In a video posted on April 12, Quando's owner presents him with a chewed-up shoe—but he's already punished himself.

As she asks him if he's chewed up "another" shoe of hers, Quando sits in the corner, his face pressed against it, but his eyes still looking guiltily at the scene of the crime.

She then presents viewers with a portion of Quando's many toys, including a rubber bone that would be perfect for chewing, but it's clearly not enough.

Returning to Quando, who is still in his self-imposed prison staring into the corner, she asks him straight out: "Did you do this?"

And he gives the ultimate puppy-dog eyes—but the damage has been done, and she tells him to "look in that corner," where he duly returns.

"Quando back in the corner," she wrote in the caption to the video, which has been viewed close to 3 million times and liked close to half a million times.

TikTok users were in stitches, one writing: "Bro arrested himself," and another declaring "bro needs a lawyer asap."

"He been in that corner before," one user said, as another said "guilty dogs are so funny."

Some worried that Quando may have been left alone for too long, but his owner replied in a comment explaining she works from home.

And another suggested she should buy Quando some "cheap flip flops at the dollar store" to chew instead of her own.

Dogs can chew on household items for a variety of reasons, from relieving stress or boredom or because they are teething—and shoes are a particular favorite, in part because of how they smell, according to Wag!.

To a dog, a person's shoe smells not only like their owner, but everywhere they have been, from around the house to the grocery store, park and near other animals, making it an interesting thing to sniff and chew on.
