Fewer than 30 Hollywood stars have earned one of the entertainment worlds highest honors: the EGOT, the combination of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
Following the 2026 Grammy Awards, the director Steven Spielberg has joined the elite group for producing Music by John Williams—a documentary on the composer—which took home the award for Best Music Film.
Newsweek has rounded up a full list of EGOT winners.
What Is an EGOT?
To be an EGOT winner means winning at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
The term was coined by Miami Vice actor Philip Michael Tomas, who told The Associated Press in 1984 that it “Stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.” It was further popularized after appearing in the TV show 30 Rock, and has now firmly entered the cultural lexicon.
