A super rare red Ford GT with double white stripes from 2005 with only 2,900 miles on the odometer is up for auction. The current bid is a six-figure sum of $445,000. Only 2,022 units of the car were manufactured. What makes this particular GT stand out more is that it is one of the 766 cars painted in Mark IV Red.
The Ford GT is powered by a supercharged 5,400 cc V8 motor mated to a six-speed gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels, churning 550 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 rpm. Originally, the GT was dedicated to commemorating Ford’s GT40 racing cars that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times from 1966 to 1969.
This particular car sports optional extras such as Ford GT graphics, side air intakes, a dual center-exit exhaust system, a front splitter, a rear diffuser, fog lights, and HID headlights. The icing on the cake is the McIntosh stereo system and forged aluminum BBS rims measuring 18” up front and 19” out back. The massive Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires with sizes 235/45 front and 315/40 at the rear date back to 2015.
The GT came with four-piston monoblock calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated rotors measuring 14” at the front and 13.2” at the back. Yes, they are painted red too. Despite it being a performance car from the early 2000s, the GT came with push-button ignition, remote keyless entry, and air conditioning.
The car’s interior sports a neat look with Ebony leather upholstery, and the Sparco seat design has been inspired by the GT40 with “ventilation grommets and harness slots.” The aluminum highlights of the interior include a central tunnel, the gear lever, and the rotary climate controls.
The instrument cluster has also been designed with the GT40 in mind, which displays the fuel level, voltage, boost, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. Not to forget the digital odometer that displays the 2,900-mile reading.
This particular Ford GT belonged to Schultz Ford of Nanuet, New York, and over the 19 years of the car’s existence, it was registered in California and Florida. What you also get with the car is a Ford Certificate of Authenticity, the owner’s manual, a car cover, and two window stickers. Additionally, the car carries a verified Carfax report and a clear Ohio title that makes it perfect in every way.
