Much has been made about John Cena’s final WWE match, but one of the more popular rumors has been dismissed. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently addressed rumors that Adam Copeland, better known to WWE fans as Edge, will be Cena’s final opponent.
It was mentioned in the report that there hasn’t been any discussion between WWE and AEW about potentially using Copeland as Cena’s last rival. Copeland is currently on the AEW roster, and he’s been out of action due to filming. Some fans took Copeland’s absence as a sign that he wrapped up his time with AEW, but that is not the case.

John Cena’s Farewell Tour
Cena has just three dates left on his retirement tour as of now. He recently defeated Dominik Mysterio to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his professional wrestling career. This means Cena gets to retire as a grand slam champion.
The future WWE Hall of Famer will be appearing on the Nov. 17 episode of “Monday Night Raw,” which will take place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. He is also scheduled to be a part of the “Survivor Series 2025” PLE in some form.
Cena’s final WWE appearance as an active in-ring performer will take place on Dec. 13. He will meet the winner of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in Washington. While Gunther has been the favorite to win the tournament, some are speculating that Cena’s last match could be against an “NXT” star if he’s able to hold on to the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
