A flight attendant’s handy tip to make flying more enjoyable has gone viral on TikTok.
TikTok user Taylor Shearer (@taylor_shearer) drew 1.6 million views on a video in which she showed how people in exit rows—who might not have a screen on the back of the seat in front of them—can still access in-flight entertainment.
Sitting in an exit-row seat, Shearer pointed out a latch on the left side of the seat before clicking it, causing part of the armrest to spring free.
The flight attendant then lifts it and pulls it toward her, revealing a personal screen available for the seat’s occupant.
“So many passengers are shocked to see they have TVs in the exit rows on our aircraft!” Shearer wrote in the caption.
Commenters were astounded by the reveal, with one TikTok user who identified themself as a flight attendant writing, “The way I always demonstrate this after final walk-through of [First Class]. It’s like a magic trick.”
“People not knowing this is criminal,” another added.
Finally, one individual was disappointed to have missed out: “Could have used this 10 minutes ago.”
