Jack Russell Gets Puppy, How Personality Changes Leaves Viewers Obsessed

In a viral social-media video, a dog owner shared footage of their pup before and after getting a new sibling, and internet users can’t cope with it.

The heartwarming clip, shared on TikTok in October under the username @toribrereton, shows the Jack Russell spending most of his time in bed trying to fight boredom all by himself. The second half of the video, however, shows how his life changed since getting a little sister.

Now that he has a best friend for life, Ralph spends his days playing with Lucy, chasing each other around and cuddling in bed together, knowing that he will never be alone again.

“Ralph before Lucy. Ralph with Lucy,” the caption says, “and we always thought Ralph wouldn’t cope with another dog.”

While dogs are social animals and enjoy the company of humans, they don’t always enjoy living with other canines.

Oakland Veterinary says that, while dogs who have been socialized properly and those raised with other pups do benefit from the company of another canine in their home, those who are used to be on their own don’t always welcome it.

But how do you know when your pup needs another companion? And how do you know if your dog will do well with another canine in the house?

You should first observe their behavior; if they get anxious and aggressive in the presence of another dog, then that is a sign that they may prefer being on their own and having their house and their humans to themselves.

On the other hand, if the pup looks sad after a playdate, it means that they probably crave the companionship of another canine friend in their life.

Gender matters when choosing a best friend for your pup. Experts suggest choosing the opposite gender whose size is not more than 50 percent different.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 308,000 views and more than 37,200 likes on the platform.

One user, Charlie Capers, commented: “That fills my heart with absolute joy.”

Lady Ekaterina posted: “This is one of the most beautiful videos I have seen. Thank you for sharing.”

KAYLEIGH wrote: “Ohhh God why am I balling my eyes out to how happy Ralph is.”
