A man who found a stray husky wandering the streets and left him at the shelter hoping the dog would find a loving home. What he didn’t anticipate was that the puppy had already found his new owner.
Fisher, a Siberian husky believed to be about a year old, was found roaming alone in Phoenix, Arizona. He was spotted by a nearby resident who stopped to help and took the pup to a local animal shelter, hoping Fisher could be reunited with his owners.
Once at the shelter, Fisher was checked for a microchip and placed on a standard stray hold for a week. However, staff found no identifying information, and no one came forward to claim him. While it appeared like the husky might face an extended stay before adoption, his story took a heartwarming turn.
The man who had rescued Fisher from the street returned to the shelter a week later—this time not as a Good Samaritan, but as an adopter. He officially gave Fisher a permanent home, bringing the dog’s brief journey full circle.
The emotional reunion was shared in a video posted to Fisher’s dedicated TikTok account, @fisher.shreds, where viewers were given a glimpse of the moment the two saw each other again. In the clip, Fisher excitedly wriggles around on his new owner’s lap, wagging his tail furiously and showering him with affection.
The video quickly resonated with viewers, racking up more than 28,800 views and over 6,100 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. The caption accompanying the video explained just how strong their connection had become. Fisher was said to be “so excited” to see his owner again after spending a week in the shelter. “During the time before taking him to the shelter we bonded pretty quick,” the TikTok caption added.

Bred to work closely with humans and other dogs in packs, huskies are described by the AKC as “friendly, affectionate, and loyal,” traits that often make them deeply devoted companions. However, the organization also notes that their innate friendliness means they are more likely to greet strangers than guard against them, and they thrive on connection and activity rather than solitude.
Since adopting Fisher, his owner has continued to share clips showcasing the husky’s energetic personality and playful chaos, from zoomies to cuddles, further endearing him to viewers online.
Needless to say, TikTok users have been deeply moved by Fisher’s adoption journey. The viral TikTok video, posted on March 18, has drawn more than 200 comments, many reflecting on the powerful bond between dog and owner.
