Dachshund Discovers Button to Control Car Window, Then Chaos Ensues

A tiny four-legged troublemaker has figured out how to roll down car windows, and he’s using his new power for pure mischief.

TikTok user Kristina told Newsweek that her dog, Frankie, learned how to control the car’s window with a simple click of the button about a year ago after he spotted someone he knew. His tiny paw slipped onto the button and saw the window slide down, allowing him to say hi. From that moment on, he knew it was a magic button to get what he wanted—attention or chaos, depending on his mood.

She recently recorded Frankie opening a car window and shared it on her TikTok account, @kristinagracerivera, earlier this week, bringing in over 140,500 views and 31,100 likes. The dachshund sat in the front seat, scanning the outside for someone to walk past. His paw hovered over the window button. He couldn’t wait to let out a few barks, which is common for the dachshund breed; however, the video stopped short before any madness occurred.

Kristina knows firsthand that her dog’s barking occurs for two reasons: Frankie either wants the person to come over and pet him, or he’s protecting her. And after learning the hard way that the window down creates a barking fit, Kristina kept the child lock on to stop the window from rolling down.

TikTok users weren’t surprised in the slightest after discovering that Frankie, because what this breed lacks in size, they make up for in personality.

Originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers, these small canines are energetic, bold and stubborn. Newsweek previously reported that the dachshund’s energy can sometimes turn into restlessness or hyperactivity, which can lead to barking, digging, and mischievous behavior if they do not receive enough mental stimulation.

Viewers knew from experience the chaos these dogs create.

One commenter said: “They use all their intelligence for mischief, I swear.”

“It’s always the wiener dogs, I swear, but that would make me so happy to walk past that lil sassy hotdog,” another commenter wrote.

“Mine does this too. Now the lock stays on since she opened the windows while we were on the highway,” a third person commented.
