Goldendoodle’s Sweet Daily Ritual for Neighor’s Dog Caught on Doorbell Cam

A dog with a habit of politely knocking on her neighbor’s door has captured millions of views on social media, after a Los Angeles couple began sharing videos of the pup’s unexpected daily visits.

The dog, named Pita, belongs to the couple’s next-door neighbors and regularly walks over to their house to see their dogs, Fia and Ella. In a video on Instagram with more than 500,000 views, Pita can be seen on the video doorbell sitting patiently on the doorstep, tapping at the door until she is let inside.

Nicole Huynh, who lives in Los Angeles, said she and her partner moved in next door to Pita in 2024—and the dog made herself at home almost immediately.

“We actually moved in next door to Pita in the fall of 2024 and Pita was already next door,” Huynh told Newsweek. “If you look at the first pinned video on our profile, Pita has been walking into our house since day one, which is how we met her.”

Huynh said that, if the door or gate was open, Pita would simply walk in looking for Fia. When it was closed, the dog adapted—by knocking.

“When it’s closed (most of the time once we were moved in), she had to knock,” Huynh said. “You’ll see lots of videos of her knocking on our page.”

Pita has since formed a close bond with both Fia and Ella, and Huynh said the pup is always ready to visit for playtime. On average, she comes over two or three times a week.

“She is best friends with our dogs Fia and Ella,” Huynh said. “Pita would come over every day if she could.”

Internet Reacts

Huynh said she first posted about Pita on TikTok before she had any kind of following. The response surprised her.

“My first video on our page was about Pita. I had no followers,” she said. “I posted it and went to bed and woke up to 25,000 notifications.”

Huynh later shifted much of her content to Instagram, where she found her videos resonated more strongly with viewers. She said most updates about Pita now appear there.

In the comments, people cannot get enough of Pita’s daily visits. “This is just too adorable,” said one commenter, while another wrote: “This is the best thing I have seen today.”

“What a bonus to moving to your new home,” said a third viewer. “Bonus dog!”
