Last year before the All-Star break, even though Paige Bueckers was phenomenal, her Dallas Wings were 6-17 and en route to finishing as the league’s worst team. This year, the Wings are 18-9 — fourth-best record in the league — and equal parts pleasant surprise and legitimate title contender.
It’s a night and day reality for Bueckers on the court, but she’s been consistent the entire time, and she’s an All-Star for the second straight season.
WNBA All-Stars descended upon Chicago on Thursday for 2026 All-Star Weekend. The WNBA posted a hilarious video starring Bueckers and Minnesota Lynx All-Star rookie point guard Olivia Miles. Bueckers, the 2025 No. 1 overall pick, is only in her second season, but she’s a veteran in vibes.
The WNBA admin asked Bueckers and Miles to describe the vibes for All-Star Weekend. Miles plainly stated that she’ll probably attend “all the events” because “there’s just so much networking, so much to do. Bueckers, meanwhile, said, “Getting lit for three days straight!”
Miles stayed focused on basketball and expressed excitement to play with the league’s best in the All-Star Game, while Bueckers’ mind was still on the parties: “Electrolytes, fun times, parties, and a little bit of hoops.”

Bueckers is the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, and barring injury or an immense drop-off, Miles is a lock to win this year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year award. The Lynx selected Miles with the No. 2 overall pick, after the Wings took Azzi Fudd at No. 1, in the 2026 WNBA Draft on April 13.
Bueckers is averaging 20.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds for the Wings. Miles is averaging 19.3 points, 6.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals for the WNBA-best 22-6 Lynx.
