Tom Brady Reveals Whether He’ll Play Flag Football at Summer Olympics

Tom Brady has been retired for several years now, but is planning to return to the field for another version of football.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner has shown his ability to throw precision passes and bombs down the field, helping both the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers win the Lombardi during his career.

However, this weekend brings his participation in a flag football game, which will feature some of his former foes and teammates, including fellow retired star Rob Gronkowski and NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.

The game involves no contact, but Brady has been in full promotion mode for weeks ahead of the event. That’s included him trash-talking one of the other athletes participating, WWE star Logan Paul.

On Tuesday, Brady appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where he discussed the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic. The event, originally set to occur in Saudi Arabia, was relocated to Los Angeles in the United States.

Due to his participation in this weekend’s event, an interesting question popped up about the Olympics. GMA’s Robin Roberts mentioned flag football would be an event debuting in the 2028 Summer Olympics, also set to occur in Los Angeles.

“A lot of NFL players are saying they’ll compete in this. So you wanna add to your jewelry collection, go for the gold?” Roberts asked him.

“I would never say never,” Brady replied, adding, “But that is probably unlikely, just so you know.”

“I think for these young guys, it’s good for them to do it. If I ever want to come in for an advisory role, as a coach, something like that. That’s probably better suited for me,” he told the GMA crew.

Brady said the lead-up to his upcoming flag football game had him “excited” about it. However, when it comes to the Olympics, he said he’d let the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen “get out there and try to win it.”

“I love my Fox job. I love my broadcasting. Big commitment to that. I love the NFL with the Raiders and working on that, and different projects I have. So, I got a lot going on,” he said.

In addition to this weekend’s flag football event, Brady, a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, has next month’s NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. The team is expected to use their No. 1 pick on Heisman-winning quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, but then they’ll have several other big decisions to make with later picks.
