Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has eight NFL seasons under his belt, winning two league MVP trophies since joining the team as its No. 32 overall draft pick in 2018.
As he prepares to take the field for Year 9 in the NFL, Jackson was asked how he views his legacy at this point in his professional career.
Jackson isn’t ready to reflect on that topic just yet.
“That’s a good question,” Jackson said, via Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk. “I really don’t have an answer for that question. I was not expecting that. I really don’t think about my legacy. I just try to be the best player I can be, keeping God first and doing what I can do when I can do it, being on the field and just trying to be the best player I can be at every moment.
“I don’t really think about my legacy. Probably when I start thinking about retiring, I’ll probably be thinking about that — but not now,” the superstar quarterback concluded.
Jackson notched back-to-back First Team All-Pro seasons in 2023 and 2024, but regressed in 2025 as he dealt with a variety of injury issues. He finished the year with 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions on 63.6% passing through 13 games, while also rushing for 349 yards and two scores.
Despite entering the 2025 season with high expectations, the Ravens missed the playoffs with an 8-9 record. They’ll kickoff their 2026 regular season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 13.
