Jimmy Butler recently dealt with an injury scare.
The Golden State Warriors forward left the team’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder with an apparent knee injury during the first half.
When the Warriors returned to the court for the second half, Butler was ruled out for the remainder of the game. That put his status in question moving forward.
Heading into Thursday night’s game between the Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers, Butler was initially listed as questionable. The injury report detailed his setback as “knee soreness.”

Heading into Thursday’s game between the Sixers and the Warriors, Butler has been ruled out.
When Butler left Tuesday’s action at home, he checked out after 15 minutes of playing. He shot 2-7 from the field, scoring six points. He also came down with three rebounds and produced one assist.
The Warriors came up short against the thriving Thunder, taking on a 124-112 loss. Heading into a bout with the 11-9 Sixers, the Warriors are 11-11, sitting eighth in the Western Conference.
Butler isn’t the only name to pop up on the Warriors’ concerning injury report on Thursday. Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jonathan Kuminga, Al Horford, and Quentin Post were all deemed questionable on the initial report.
Steph Curry was expectedly ruled out, as he didn’t make the trip with the Warriors on their current three-game road trip. Dealing with a quad injury, Curry has needed more than a week off to recover. The Warriors hope he’ll be back in action by next week.
Golden State will have to lean on Jimmy Butler to lead the way. This season, Butler has appeared in 20 games so far. Seeing the court for 30.9 minutes per game, Butler is posting averages of 19.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. He is shooting 51 percent from the field and 43 percent from beyond the arc.
The Warriors and the Sixers are slated for a 7 PM ET tip.
