AEW star Adam Copeland and actress Pom Klementieff have joined the cast of “The Beekeeper 2.” The news was first reported by Variety.

The two actors will star in the sequel to the 2024 action film led by Jason Statham. They join a cast that includes Statham and fellow new addition Yara Shahidi.

About “The Beekeeper 2”

The first film was a box office success, grossing $162 million worldwide. It centered on a former government operative who comes out of retirement on a mission of vengeance.

Several cast members from the original are set to return for the sequel, including Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Jemma Redgrave. The new installment is currently in production, with Kurt Wimmer returning to write the screenplay and Timo Tjahjanto directing.

Plot details for the sequel, including the characters Copeland and Klementieff will play, are currently being kept under wraps. The film will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.

Adam Copeland’s Growing Acting Career

For Adam Copeland, this marks another significant Hollywood role. He recently starred as the god of war, Ares, in the Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” a role that earned him a nomination at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards.

Wrestling fans know Copeland as the WWE Hall of Famer Edge. After a legendary, multi-decade career in WWE where he became a multi-time world champion, he joined All Elite Wrestling in 2023. He is currently one of the top stars in the promotion.

Pom Klementieff is best known for her role as Mantis in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” film series. She has also appeared in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise.

While Copeland continues to expand his presence in Hollywood, his focus in AEW remains intensely personal. He is currently embroiled in a bitter rivalry with his former friend Christian Cage and The Patriarchy, with a major match between them expected to be announced for the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view.
