An airline member of staff shared her heartwarming interaction with actor Emma Roberts, sparking a viral reaction on Threads.

The airline worker, Doris Cadet, posted a photo with the Wild Child star alongside a handwritten note Roberts had given her, which quickly racked up more than 56,000 views.

“Actor Emma Roberts was probably one of the sweetest passengers I’ve ever checked,” Cadet wrote. She shared two photos: a smiling selfie of the pair and a snapshot of the note, which read, “Doris, you are the best! Emma Roberts,” complete with a hand-drawn heart. Newsweek reached out to Emma Robert’s publicist for comment via email.

The post quickly filled with reactions from Threads users, many of whom were surprised by the interaction.

“I love hearing this because other people I’ve talked to that have met her have the opposite to say,” one user commented.

“This is actually super freaking cool…” shared another, while a third added, “She looks so much like her aunt here omg.”

Others were simply overwhelmed by the idea of the encounter, with one user joking, “I s*** myself with excitement.”

Emma Roberts, 35, first rose to fame as a teenager on Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous before carving out a long-running career in film and television. She is best known for her roles in Scream Queens, multiple seasons of American Horror Story, and films including We’re the Millers and Wild Child. She is also the niece of Julia Roberts and the daughter of actor Eric Roberts—a family connection she has said has been both a help and a hindrance in Hollywood.

Roberts recently starred in the superhero thriller Madame Webb, a Spider-Man spinoff film in which she played Mary Parker, the mother of Spider Man.

The film did not perform well at the box office and received mixed-to-negative critical reception. Speaking on the Just for Variety podcast, Roberts reflected on the challenges of modern film reception, blaming the relentless nature of the internet for some of the criticism.

“If it wasn’t for internet culture and everything being made into a joke, I think the reception would’ve been different,” she told the podcast.

“And that’s what bums me out about a lot of stuff, even stuff that I’ve done, is people just make such a joke out of everything now.”

While Roberts has a large and dedicated fanbase, she has also faced criticism over the years. In 2023, American Horror Story co-star Angelica Ross accused Roberts of making a transphobic remark on set. According to reports, Roberts later apologized. Ross acknowledged the apology on social media, writing: Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow up on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform.”
