Stephen Graham, the star and co-creator of “Adolescence,” has hinted that the Netflix hit series will return for a second season.

Speaking at the Golden Globes in Beverley Hills on Sunday, Graham said: “I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”

The show’s director Philip Barantini previously said there was “no sequel” in the works. “There is no sequel to this, but we as a collective want to continue to work together on multiple things,” he said in December.

“We captured lightning in a bottle in terms of how we shot it, I but also the reach we had. That doesn’t mean every project going forwards can’t have the same ethos.”

The series achieved huge success after it debuted on Netflix last year, and won four Golden Globe awards on Sunday.

What Is ‘Adolescence’ About?

The series follows 13-year-old Jamie Miller, played by Owen Cooper, who is accused of killing a female schoolmate.

The show sparked a global conversation about violence against women, the manosphere, and the radicalization of young men in online spaces.

Graham previously told GQ: “I hoped it would create conversation.”

“The amount of stuff me and Hannah [Graham’s wife] are getting sent, and the amount of people I’m seeing on the streets who were saying that has happened between them and their children, is huge. To me, that’s objective complete. We’ve done our bit. Now you go and crack on.”

How Many Awards Has ‘Adolescence’ Won?

“Adolescence” has won a number of major awards in recent months. It became Netflix’s second most-watched English language series of all time, with 66.3 million views in the first two weeks after its release.

At the Emmy Awards, Cooper won for outstanding supporting actor in a limited anthology series or movie, becoming the youngest male winner in history. The show also won awards in five other categories.

At the Critics’ Choice Awards, the show won the prize for best limited series, while Graham, Cooper, and Erin Doherty picked up awards in the best actor and supporting actor categories.

The show also won four Golden Globes, including the award for best limited series, while Graham, Cooper, and Doherty all took home prizes.
