Margot Robbie has revealed her unconventional take on “nachos” — and viewers are absolutely here for it.
The Australian actor, 35, appeared on the British podcast Table Manners, where guests sit down to eat with pop star Jessie Ware and her mother, Lennie Ware. During the episode, Robbie shared her very personal — and very Australian — interpretation of the Tex-Mex classic.
While discussing the dish, Robbie explained what she calls “Bogan nachos.” In Australia, Bogan is a slang term often used to describe someone proudly unrefined or working-class — similar to “redneck” or “trailer trash” in the U.S., though often used affectionately or self-deprecatingly.
Her version of nachos, which she pronounces “narchos,” is made with a packet of Doritos laid out on aluminum foil, topped with a tin of baked beans and finished with melted cheese.
“That’s what I thought nachos was like,” she said. “That is Bogan nachos, and it is banging,” she added.
Robbie was born and raised in Dalby, a rural town in Queensland, Australia, before moving to Melbourne to pursue acting. She first gained recognition on Australian television in Neighbours before breaking into Hollywood with The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013.
Since then, she has starred in a wide range of films, including I, Tonya, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Suicide Squad, Babylon, and Barbie.
Robbie is currently promoting her upcoming film Wuthering Heights, in which she stars alongside Jacob Elordi. The movie is a new adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel, directed by Emerald Fennell, with Robbie playing Catherine Earnshaw and Elordi portraying Heathcliff. The movie is in theatres on 13 February.
The actor also shared details about her dream last meal, revealing it would include a European cheese board paired with a white Burgundy wine, her husband’s spaghetti Bolognese, or a full Christmas dinner — complete with smoked ham, mashed potatoes, and ice cream from Salt & Straw. Her flavor of choice is sea salt caramel, served in a waffle cone.
Robbie also revealed her go-to karaoke song is Cher’s “Believe.”
Following the episode, TikTok viewers flooded the comments with reactions — many eager to try the dish for themselves.
