Chiefs’ Latest Prediction Would Be Good News for Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs have already turned the page on what ended up being a highly disappointing 2025 NFL season.

Not only did they miss out on the playoffs, they also saw superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes go down with a torn ACL late in the year. That has led to some questions about the start of the 2026 season.

Add in the fact that Travis Kelce is contemplating retirement once again entering the offseason and things get more concerning for the Chiefs. Kelce could opt to return, but Kansas City clearly has work to do to get back to being a dominant Super Bowl contender. The front office will need to put in some work this offseason.

Keeping that in mind, the offense was obviously a disappointment for the Chiefs in 2025. It would not be surprising to see Kansas City look to bring in a piece or two during the offseason to improve that side of the football.

Kansas City Chiefs Predicted to Make Another Big Investment in Patrick Mahomes

Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski has released a new mock draft following the conclusion of the Super Bowl. With the draft just over two months away, he has predicted that the Chiefs will target Arizona State standout wide receiver Jordyn Tyson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Dame Parson of Bleacher Report weighed in on why Tyson would be a great fit for Kansas City.

“Tyson’s medicals will be highly anticipated at the Scouting Combine in a few weeks,” Parson said. “Depending on those results, he’s the most skilled wide receiver in the draft. Tyson’s blend of dynamism, short-area quickness and route-running upside fits well with Andy Reid calling plays. The Chiefs need a potential difference-maker at wide receiver, and Tyson offers exactly that.”

Tyson would give the Chiefs explosive playmaking ability. He is coming off of a 2025 college season at Arizona State that saw him catch catch 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns. During the 2024 season with the Sun Devils, he racked up 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 scores.

Making investments into Mahomes is always a wise decision for Kansas City. Tyson at No. 9 overall would be an aggressive move, but it likely wouldn’t be one that the Chiefs regret.

This is just an idea and there is a lot of time between now and the 2026 NFL Draft, but Tyson is a name worth keeping an eye on for Kansas City.
