The Philadelphia Eagles‘ 2025-26 NFL season came to a disappointing end with a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild card round on Sunday evening.
After an impressive run to their Super Bowl title last season, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense never reached their full potential in this year’s campaign. Many fans and analysts directed the blame toward first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, who took over as Philadelphia’s OC following the departure of Kellen Moore.
Patullo faced calls for his job throughout the Eagles’ 2025 campaign, but the team stuck with him as coordinator despite their serious offensive struggles.
Hurts was directly asked about Patullo’s performance after Sunday’s playoff loss to the 49ers.
“I think I’m always growing,” Hurts said. “I’m always taking in my experiences and learning from everything that we go through. I think it’s tough to single out one individual. Especially at the moment like this. We’ve all got to improve and that’s how I look at everything.”

Head coach Nick Sirianni was also asked about Patullo’s future with the organization.
“Again, there there will be time to evaluate everybody’s performance,” Sirianni said. “Right now, I feel for all our guys in the locker room, all the players, all the coaches, the front office, everybody that works so hard, the fans that come out and support us, Mr. Lurie. I feel for all of us, all of them, and there’ll be time to evaluate everything coming up.”

The Eagles’ offense ranked in the bottom half of the league through the 2025 regular season, averaging 311.2 yards and 22.3 points per game. In 2024, they ranked top-10 in both of those categories.
Hurts finished Sunday’s loss with 168 yards and one touchdown on 20/35 passing. A.J. Brown, the team’s best wide receiver weapon, finished the game with just three catches for 25 yards.
