The DCU is set to grow with the addition of “Supergirl.” The fan-favorite DC heroine showed up at the end of James Gunn’s “Superman,” and the first glance showed a very much younger Kryptonian looking to do nothing but party.

The same can be said for the new movie, which dropped its first teaser trailer. Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, as she seemingly spends her time flying around in space and consuming multiple drinks.

There are some instances where the backstory of what happened to Krypton is shown, including a multitude of Kryptonians surviving the destruction of their home planet. Though Superman does not appear in the teaser trailer, it is believed that he will play a big part in the film.

What is shown is Krypto the Superdog, who stole the show in “Superman.”

The trailer can be seen above. While there has been no mention about which villains are being shown in the teaser trailer, there is a small flash of what fans have been waiting for.

Jason Momoa has been recast as Lobo for the DCU after multiple movies in the previous DC movies universe as Aquaman. Though it is only a quick shot, Momoa already looks great as DC’s most infamous bounty hunter.

Lobo is one of Superman’s biggest foes, and often goes toe-to-toe with the Last Son of Krypton in the comics. Fans have been clamoring to see the villain appear in a live-action DC movie, and that will now be the case.

Considering how deeply seated the rivalry or battles between Lobo and Superman generally are, he may have to take on both Supergirl and Superman in the movie. This is just speculation at this point.

“Supergirl” will fly into theaters on June 26, just a little under a year before “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” comes out. Gunn is building his DCU in a special way, and the future looks bright already.
