Anthony Edwards was downgraded on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ injury report ahead of Monday’s action against the Phoenix Suns.
The star guard is dealing with an illness, which has made him questionable to play. He joined Terrence Shannon Jr., who was downgraded for the same reason.
The Timberwolves are on the hunt for their 16th win of the year on Monday.
Will Anthony Edwards Get the Nod to Play?
Although the Timberwolves faced a potential absence for Edwards on Monday night, the team has upgraded their star guard to available for the evening.
Earlier in the year, Edwards dealt with a minor setback, which forced him to miss a handful of games early on. He was out for the Timberwolves’ final two games of October and opened up November out of the mix for two more games.
On November 5, Edwards returned to the court to face the New York Knicks. His team struggled in a 137-114 loss. Edwards and the Timberwolves fired up an impressive winning streak after that hit, winning four in a row.
Since then, Edwards hasn’t missed any time for the Timberwolves, although his production has slowed down a bit lately.
Following a 44-point outing against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 2, Edwards produced 11 points in 31 minutes of action in a rematch. When the Timberwolves hosted the Los Angeles Clippers on December 6, Edwards shot 3-11 from the field, scoring well under his average with 15 points.
Despite the recent scoring struggles from Edwards, the Timberwolves have remained successful. They haven’t los a game since their overtime battle against the Sacramento Kings on November 24. Heading into Monday’s game, Minnesota holds a five-game winning streak.
The Timberwolves and the Suns are slated for a 7:30 PM ET tip-off game.
