Two American bulldogs who had never lived outside an apartment have delighted viewers on TikTok with their reaction to their first ever home with a garden.
The video, captured by their owner @destinyjade421 and posted on May 17, documented the emotional moment the North Carolina pair—an adult and a puppy—arrived at their new home and discovered something they had never had before: a backyard.
The short clip, overlaid with the caption "little do my apartment dogs know...Mommy and daddy did everything possible to get their boys a yard," has since garnered more than 343,000 likes and over 1.4 million views, with many moved TikTok users expressing their joy for the duo in the comments section.
Viewers were able to see the dogs sitting calmly in the back seat of a car, gazing out the window as they are driven to their new home. Moments later, they are released into their new backyard, tails wagging enthusiastically as they dart across the grass, sniffing every corner and exploring their new territory.
A more comedic moment came when the older of the duo was filmed gently shoving a small child, presumably his owner's, to one side to get to his new patch of grass before anyone else.
The heartfelt video has since struck a chord with viewers online, with more than 1,000 TikTok users flooding the comments with their emotional reactions.
"The big dog moving your daughter out the way is sending me," one viewer said. "He said 'you're not going quick enough.'"
"Girl y'all got them a FIELD," another added. "I love that for them."
"Loved seeing the pit stop the [little] girl from committing to the stairs cause the possible danger, people forget pits are nursery dogs and literally raise children," a third viewer said. "Have so many blessing, y'all are the definition of rich. Proud of the journey."
