A woman investigated her home after her husband alerted her that a bird had got inside—but what she found shocked her, and the internet.
The TikToker, @yo_mama969, shared a video of her impressive landing overlooking a living room and then of her view walking into her bedroom trying to identify the culprit. But it was no ordinary bird—it was an owl perched at the top of her four-post bed. The video garnered 24,400 likes and 201,900 views.
“When your husband calls to say there’s a bird in the house, this is not what I pictured,” she wrote as the text overlaying the video.
If you ever find an owl inside your home, it’s helpful to know what to do. Charity Barn Owl Trust says first, check whether the owl is injured or in distress—if it is visibly hurt, the advice is to contact a vet or wildlife rehabilitator rather than attempt to handle it yourself.
If you are unsure what species you have found, it is wise not to intervene until you’ve sought expert advice—different owl species have different needs.
TikTokers were quick to react to the clip and were highly amused by the visitor.
“Did he suffer from bird blindness,” joked one user.
“A bird in the house is completely different than an owl in the house,” shared Luna.
“A bird’ and not ‘an owl’ is criminal,” shared another viewer.
“In the Caribbean when an owl come inside your house its isn’t a good sign,” shared Samera.
“So when do you get to go to Hogwarts?” asked another user.
“Knock knock. Who’s there? Who. Who who?” joked another.
“My toxic trait is thinking I could befriend it and get it to come down & hang out with me,” added another user.
“Well you bought an owl perch bed so what did you expect. Look at the fine print from the manufacturer, I bet there was a warning,” joked another.
