What Maltese Shih Tzu Does When Owner Cooks Melts Hearts

In a viral TikTok video, a dog owner revealed what her Maltese Shih Tzu does every time she starts cooking, and internet users can’t cope with it.

The hilarious video, shared on Wednesday under the username @monsieur.malshi, shows the little pup, Monsieur, from Quebec, Canada, stealing one of his owner’s kitchen towels and then sitting on it, ready to watch her cook.

“My dog likes to steal and sit on a dishtowel to watch us cook,” the caption says. “One of his fun little dog quirks is that he will not sit on anything that’s not soft.”

Monsieur’s mom Sarah told Newsweek that her pup, who is deaf from birth and loves staying close to her at all times, likes to sit on random things like dishtowels.

He also likes sitting on things like piles of shoes when they have guests, reusable grocery bags, and most notably a little bread basket, which is featured is some of their other viral TikTok videos.

Dogs love being with their owners at all times, but even more so when there is food involved. However, while a little taste of our food sounds very exciting to them, it is not always the best idea.

Many of the foods that we eat every day without issues can actually be toxic, even deadly in some cases, to our pups, and should always be avoided.

The number one food that dogs must never consume is chocolate. While safe for humans, chocolate contains some toxins that if ingested by a dog, or a cat, even in small amounts can lead to serious health problems, and often even death.

Coffe and other caffeine products also contain this toxin and should never be offered to your pets. Xylitol, macadamia nuts, grapes and raisins, alcohol, onions and garlic, and uncooked yeast dough are also very detrimental to our pups.

Other foods that dogs are better off without include milk and dairy, anything salty, raw meat or eggs, bones of any kind, citrus, coconut oil, and nuts.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, you might wonder which items from your dinner you can safely share with you dog. You can find all the information on the topic here.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 929,600 views and 284,500 likes on the platform.

One user, Lucasthepupper, commented: “It’s cause his butts cold on the tile, my guy doesn’t fully sit unless it’s carpet cause the wood/ tile is cold.”

21shellshell said: “do you expect him to sit upon the filthy floor like a commoner? we see his royal highness.”

Ericriveracooks added: “A little picnic friend waiting for a little snack for the picnic.”
