Cat Being Taught How To Pet Doberman on Couch Leaves Viewers Obsessed

In a viral video, a pet owner from California tried to teach her cat how to pet her Doberman pinscher—the pup’s reaction has melted hearts on social media.

The heartwarming Instagram clip shared earlier in January under the username @diesel_dobie, shows the kitty attentively watching his mom as she shows him how to pet the dog. While keeping his eyes on his mom, the tabby replicates the exact move.

The pup is so pleased about the interaction with his feline sibling that he relaxes a little too much, collapsing on him—which then makes both of them visibly uncomfortable

“Teaching my tiny tiger how to pet a doberman. Showing him what to do. He’s paying attention. Then his doberman dramatically collapses. And things are awkward now. None is comfortable anymore,” the caption says.

The poster told Newsweek that her kitty, Wasabi, loves being around Diesel her Doberman, and the feline always tries to be wherever Diesel is in the house.

“In this video, Wasabi and I were petting Diesel when Diesel suddenly flopped onto his back and softly squished him. You can clearly see Wasabi expressing his feelings through his face…but he still wouldn’t move. He’d rather be a little squished than be away from Diesel.”

Dogs and cats have a reputation for being each other’s worst enemy, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

A study carried out by Italian scientists and published in 2020 in the journal PLOS ONE surveyed 1,270 pet owners who own both a cat and a dog and found that the two can easily cohabitate without much conflict.

Findings from the study showed that over 64 percent of the cats and dogs living together also played together, 58 percent chased each other, and 41 percent fought. Almost two-thirds of the pets sometimes playfully “ambushed” each other.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 154,000 views and more than 11,500 likes on the platform.

One user, The_mojave_ghost, commented: “They turned out to be so good together.”

Crncim said: “Now I am craving a cat in my life. Can you just kiss Deisel’s lips, looks so pinchable.”
