A dachshund's emotional reaction to being refused a pup cup has led to both laughter and sympathy among viewers on TikTok.

The short video, which was shared to the platform on April 18, captured the dachshund's heart-wrenching response to being denied her beloved treat—one that many dogs have come to expect as a rite of passage in the passenger seat.

The viral moment was posted by the pet's owner under @tinyandred and has since racked up more than 1.2 million views, over 197,000 likes, and a flurry of amused comments.

Viewers were able to see the black-and-tan shorthair dachshund sitting stiffly at the edge of a car's passenger seat, deliberately turned away from the camera and from her owner. The clear message: she is not speaking to her human.

Off-camera, the dog's owner is heard trying to make peace. "Baby, they were too busy for a pup cup. I'm sorry, I'm sorry; they were too busy. I couldn't ask for a pup cup," she says, in a tone of escalating guilt.

The caption on the video, "she hates me," punctuated the silent treatment with a note of mock despair.

The brief clip has left viewers in hysterics, drawing thousands of comments from users who sympathized with the dog's evident disappointment.

"Please give him immediately his pup cup," one viewer said, while another added: "Dachshunds are the only dogs I've ever known that hold grudges."

"You go back and get that baby a pup cup, like right now," a third viewer posted.

"As a barista, we are never too busy for a puppy cup," one comment read.

Though brief, the video has tapped into a growing cultural affection for what is known as the "pup cup"—a simple paper cup of whipped cream, often handed out free at drive-thru coffee shops.

For countless dog owners, it has become a tradition, a small indulgence that turns an ordinary car ride into a moment of joy for their pets. And for many canines, especially those who are food-motivated, it is the highlight of any errand run.

The treat is typically composed only of whipped cream, and while not intended as part of a healthy canine diet, it is considered safe in small amounts and is frequently used as an occasional reward.
