A woman has melted hearts after revealing the adorable way she calms her dog's nerves whenever the suitcases come out before vacation.

TikTok user @tailsoftwopupps shared a clip online which revealed her dog's nervous reaction when she saw that the suitcases had made another appearance. The owner can be heard saying "you're coming tomorrow, I promise," before offering a full rundown of the plan for their upcoming trip to the beach.

"I'm going to pack your bed in the car, because you're coming to the beach. I'm not going to leave you, no babysitter," the owner said.

The owner's sweet reminder to the dog has delighted social media users, leading to more than 384,800 views on TikTok and 120,100 likes at the time of writing.

Layered over the video, the TikTok caption explains that the owner has to tell the dog she's coming on the trip "because suitcases make her sad." Needless to say, the dog looked much happier once her owner explained the plan of action, and once she knew she was included.

The owner is certainly of the belief that this quashes any anxious feelings the dog might have about being left behind. Alongside the clip, she wrote "you can't tell me she didn't understand every single word."

While owners may think their dogs understand exactly what they're saying, it's likely that they gain more from the tone and body language instead. VCA Animal Hospitals suggests that dogs can observe physical clues, and they learn to associate specific words with certain actions or objects.

So, though it may seem like dogs understand words such as "walk" or "treat," realistically it's more likely the tone and facial expressions that they're reading into.

Indeed, as explained by VCA Animal Hospitals, dogs may have the same cognitive ability as a 6–12-month-old infant. For example, it may not be the exact meaning of the words they comprehend, but rather the meaning that's being inferred by body language, facial expressions, and tone.

Many studies have looked into whether dogs can actually understand us, but there is no definitive proof as of yet.

However, TikTok user @tailsoftwopupps doesn't need a scientific study to believe that her dog knows what she's communicating.

Since the clip was shared online, it has amassed more than 150 comments as TikTok users hailed the owner's adorable bond with her pup. It even resonated with many fellow owners who took to the comments section to share their own similar experiences.

One comment reads: "Omg the way she listens to you and tilts her head."

Another TikTok user wrote: "You should get her a little bag with stuff packed and put it beside yours so she knows! "

Another person added: "Omg I literally talk to mine like that too I swear they know what we're saying haha."

While one commenter replied: "I have this same problem with my Velcro dog. Couldn't ask for a better problem."
